⁵Then, too, whoever strives in a competition is not crowned, unless he has competed lawfully.

⁷I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have preserved the faith.

⁸I have made provision for the Lord always in my sight. For he is at my right hand, so that I may not be disturbed.

⁶The proverb is: A youth is close to his way; even when he is old, he will not withdraw from it.

¹²The fields and all the things that are in them will be glad. Then all the trees of the forest will rejoice

²⁹It is he who gives strength to the weary, and it is he who increases fortitude and strength in those who are failing.

¹⁴I pursue the destination, the prize of the heavenly calling of God in Christ Jesus.

³Open your works to the Lord, and your intentions will be set in order.

⁷The just who walks in his simplicity shall leave behind him blessed sons.

²⁵But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience. ²⁶And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing. ²⁷And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God. ²⁸And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints. ²⁹For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰And those whom he predestined, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.

¹⁸And this is a gift from God: that every man to whom God has given wealth and resources, and to whom he has granted the ability to consume these, may enjoy his portion, and may find joy in his labors. ¹⁹And then he will not fully remember the days of his life, because God occupies his heart with delights.

¹³Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me.

³Let nothing be done by contention, nor in vain glory. Instead, in humility, let each of you esteem others to be better than himself. ⁴Let each of you not consider anything to be your own, but rather to belong to others. ⁵For this understanding in you was also in Christ Jesus:

¹⁰Avoid a man who is a heretic, after the first and second correction,

^2:24Is it not better to eat and drink, and to show his soul the good things of his labors? And this is from the hand of God. ^2:25So who will feast and overflow with delights as much as I have? ^2:26God has given, to the man who is good in his sight, wisdom, and knowledge, and rejoicing. But to the sinner, he has given affliction and needless worrying, so as to add, and to gather, and to deliver, to him who has pleased God. But this, too, is emptiness and a hollow worrying of the mind.

^3:1All things have their time, and all things under heaven continue during their interval. ^3:2A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pull up what was planted. ^3:3A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to tear down, and a time to build up.

³For if anyone considers himself to be something, though he may be nothing, he deceives himself.
