3And everything that moves and lives will be food for you. Just as with the edible plants, I have delivered them all to you,

1And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 2Say to the sons of Israel: These are the animals that you ought to eat out of all the living things of the earth. 3All that has a divided hoof, and that chews over again, among the cattle, you shall eat. 4But whatever certainly chews over again, but has a hoof that is not divided, such as the camel and others, these you shall not eat, and you shall consider them to be among what is unclean. 5The rock rabbit which chews over again, and whose hoof is not divided, is unclean, 6and so also is the hare, for it too chews over again, yet its hoof is not divided,

2For one person believes that he may eat all things, but if another is weak, let him eat plants. 3He who eats should not despise him who does not eat. And he who does not eat should not judge him who eats. For God has accepted him.

3prohibiting marriage, abstaining from foods, which God has created to be accepted with thanksgiving by the faithful and by those who have understood the truth. 4For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected which is received with thanksgiving; 5for it has been sanctified by the Word of God and by prayer.

3You shall not eat the things that are unclean. 4These are the animals which you ought to eat: the ox, and the sheep, and the goat, 5the stag and the roe deer, the gazelle, the wild goat, the addax, the antelope, the giraffe. 6Every beast which has a hoof divided into two parts and which also chews the cud, you shall eat. 7But those which chew over again, but do not have a divided hoof, you must not eat, such as the camel, the hare, and the hyrax. Since these chew the cud, but do not have a divided the hoof, they shall be unclean to you. 8The pig also, since it has a divided hoof, but does not chew over again, shall be unclean. Their flesh shall not be eaten, and you shall not touch their carcasses.

1“Be sons of the Lord your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make yourselves bald, because of the dead. 2For you are a holy people, for the Lord your God. 16Therefore, let no one judge you as concerns food or drink, or a particular feast day, or feast days of new moons, or of Sabbaths.

10And since he was hungry, he wanted to enjoy some food. Then, as they were preparing it, an ecstasy of mind fell over him. 11And he saw heaven opened, and a certain container descending, as if a great linen sheet were let down, by its four corners, from heaven to earth, 12on which were all four-footed beasts, and the crawling things of the earth and the flying things of the air. 13And a voice came to him: “Rise up, Peter! Kill and eat.” 14But Peter said: “Far be it from me, lord. For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.” 15And the voice, again a second time to him: “What God has purified, you shall not call common.”

23All is lawful to me, but not all is edifying. 24Let no one seek for himself, but for others. 25Whatever is sold in the market, you may eat, without asking questions for the sake of conscience. 26“The earth and all its fullness belong to the Lord.”

9Then, on the following day, while they were making the journey and approaching the city, Peter ascended to the upper rooms, so that he might pray, at about the sixth hour. 10And since he was hungry, he wanted to enjoy some food. 20Do not be willing to destroy the work of God because of food. Certainly, all things are clean. But there is harm for a man who offends by eating. 21It is good to refrain from eating meat and from drinking wine, and from anything by which your brother is offended, or led astray, or weakened. 22Do you have faith? It belongs to you, so hold it before God. Blessed is he who does not judge himself in that by which he is tested.

18And he said to them: “So, are you also without prudence? Do you not understand that everything entering to a man from outside is not able to pollute him? 19For it does not enter into his heart, but into the gut, and it exits into the sewer, purging all foods.”

1Now the Spirit has clearly said that, in the end times, some persons will depart from the faith, paying attention to spirits of error and the doctrines of devils, 2speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their consciences seared, 3prohibiting marriage, abstaining from foods, which God has created to be accepted with thanksgiving by the faithful and by those who have understood the truth. 4For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected which is received with thanksgiving; 5for it has been sanctified by the Word of God and by prayer.

1Now concerning those things that are sacrificed to idols: we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but charity builds up. 2But if anyone considers himself to know anything, he does not yet know in the way that he ought to know. 3For if anyone loves God, he is known by him. 4But as to the foods that are immolated to idols, we know that an idol in the world is nothing, and that no one is God, except One. 5For although there are things that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, (if one even considers there to be many gods and many lords) 6yet we know that there is only one God, the Father, from whom all things are, and in whom we are, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and by whom we are.
