¹⁶You have discovered honey; eat what is sufficient for you, lest perhaps, being filled up, you may vomit it.

¹³My son, eat honey, because it is good, and the honeycomb, because it is so sweet to your throat.

¹⁰³How sweet is your eloquence to my palate, more so than honey to my mouth!

²⁷Just as whoever eats too much honey, it is not good for him, so also whoever is an investigator of what is majestic will be overwhelmed by glory.

⁹Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.

³Bride to Chorus: Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat beneath the shadow of the one whom I desired, and his fruit was sweet to my palate.

¹³My son, eat honey, because it is good, and the honeycomb, because it is so sweet to your throat. ¹⁴So, too, is the doctrine of wisdom to your soul. When you have found it, you will have hope in the end, and your hope shall not perish.

¹A Psalm of David. The Lord directs me, and nothing will be lacking to me. ²He has settled me here, in a place of pasture. He has led me out to the water of refreshment. ³He has converted my soul. He has led me away on the paths of justice, for the sake of his name. ⁴For, even if I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils. For you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they have given me consolation. ⁵You have prepared a table in my sight, opposite those who trouble me. You have anointed my head with oil, and my cup, which inebriates me, how brilliant it is! ⁶And your mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and so may I dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days.

²⁴Careful words are a honeycomb: sweet to the soul and healthful to the bones.

¹¹And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of his testimony. And they loved not their own lives, even unto death.

⁶Do not serve only when seen, as if to please men, but act as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

¹¹desirable beyond gold and many precious stones, and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.

¹And so, I beg you, brothers, by the mercy of God, that you offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, with the subservience of your mind. ²And do not choose to be conformed to this age, but instead choose to be reformed in the newness of your mind, so that you may demonstrate what is the will of God: what is good, and what is well-pleasing, and what is perfect.

⁶throughout the forty years of the journey in the very broad wilderness, were uncircumcised, until the ones who had not listened to the voice of the Lord were consumed. For he had sworn to them before, that he would not reveal to them the land flowing with milk and honey.

⁹Do not be led away by changing or strange doctrines. And it is best for the heart to be sustained by grace, not by foods. For the latter have not been as useful to those who walked by them. ¹⁰We have an altar: those who serve in the tabernacle have no authority to eat from it. ¹¹For the bodies of those animals whose blood is carried into the Holy of holies by the high priest, on behalf of sin, are burned outside the camp. ¹²Because of this, Jesus, too, in order to sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered outside the gate. ¹³And so, let us go forth to him, outside the camp, bearing his reproach. ¹⁴For in this place, we have no everlasting city; instead, we seek one in the future.

⁹And I went to the Angel, saying to him that he should give the book to me. And he said to me: “Receive the book and consume it. And it shall cause bitterness in your stomach, but in your mouth it shall be sweet like honey.” ¹⁰And I received the book from the hand of the Angel, and I consumed it. And it was sweet like honey in my mouth. And when I had consumed it, my stomach was made bitter.

²⁰For what reason are you bringing me frankincense from Sheba, and sweet smelling reeds from a far away land? Your holocausts are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
