²⁸Do you not know, or have you not heard? The Lord is the eternal God, who has created the limits of the earth. He does not diminish, and he does not struggle. Neither is his wisdom searchable. ²⁹It is he who gives strength to the weary, and it is he who increases fortitude and strength in those who are failing. ³⁰Servants will struggle and fail, and young men will fall into infirmity. ³¹But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will take up wings like eagles. They will run and not struggle. They will walk and not tire.

²⁹In him, too, I labor, striving according to his action within me, which he works in virtue.

¹³Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me.

¹¹being strengthened in every virtue, in accord with the power of his glory, with all patience and longsuffering, with joy,

³⁶And so, be vigilant, praying at all times, so that you may be held worthy to escape from all these things, which are in the future, and to stand before the Son of man.”

⁸The Spirit inspires where he wills. And you hear his voice, but you do not know where he comes from, or where he is going. So it is with all who are born of the Spirit.”

¹The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven. ²He will say to the Lord, “You are my supporter and my refuge.” My God, I will hope in him. ³For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word. ⁴He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings. ⁵His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night, ⁶before the arrow flying in the day, before the troubles that wander in the darkness, nor of invasion and the midday demon.

³⁶The Lord will judge his people, and he will take pity on his servants. He will see that their hand has been weakened, and that those who have been enclosed have likewise failed, and that those who have been left behind have been consumed.

¹⁹Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away. ²⁰And then, when the time of consolation will have arrived from the presence of the Lord, he will send the One who was foretold to you, Jesus Christ, ²¹whom heaven certainly must take up, until the time of the restoration of all things, which God has spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, from ages past.

¹³For it is God who works in you, both so as to choose, and so as to act, in accord with his good will.

¹²Therefore, it is for this reason that you have not been justified. For I tell you that God is greater than man. ¹³Do you contend against him because he has not responded to all of your words? ¹⁴God speaks once, and he does not repeat the same thing a second time. ¹⁵Through a dream in a vision of the night, when a deep sleep falls over men, and they are sleeping in their beds, ¹⁶then, he opens the ears of men, and, educating them, he teaches discipline, ¹⁷so that he may divert a man from the things that he is doing, and may free him from pride,

¹¹in solicitude, not lazy; in spirit, fervent; serving the Lord;

³³Therefore, seek first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added to you as well.

³³These things I have spoken to you, so that you may have peace in me. In the world, you will have difficulties. But have confidence: I have overcome the world.”
