¹⁷Every excellent gift and every perfect gift is from above, descending from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor any shadow of alteration.

²³For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁵Thanks be to God for his ineffable gift.

⁸For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not of yourselves, for it is a gift of God. ⁹And this is not of works, so that no one may glory.

¹⁰Just as each of you has received grace, minister in the same way to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

²⁹For the gifts and the call of God are without regret.

³⁸Yet truly, Peter said to them: “Do penance; and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴Do not be willing to neglect the grace that is within you, which was given to you through prophecy, with the imposition of the hands of the priesthood. ¹⁵Meditate on these things, so that your progress may be manifest to all. ¹⁶Pay attention to yourself and to doctrine. Pursue these things. For in doing so, you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

¹⁹And then he will not fully remember the days of his life, because God occupies his heart with delights.
