5The one who secretly detracted his neighbor, this one I pursued. The one with an arrogant eye and an insatiable heart, with that one I would not eat.

16Six things there are that the Lord hates, and the seventh, his soul detests: 17haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18a heart that devises the most wicked thoughts, feet running swiftly unto evil, 19a deceitful witness bringing forth lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

29having been completely filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness; full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, spite, gossiping;

13And being at the same time also idle, they learn to go from house to house, being not only idle, but also talkative and curious, speaking of things which do not concern them.

11Brothers, do not choose to slander one another. Whoever slanders his brother, or whoever judges his brother, slanders the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.

16You shall not be a detractor, nor a whisperer, among the people. You shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am the Lord.

1My little sons, this I write to you, so that you may not sin. But if anyone has sinned, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Just One. 2And he is the propitiation for our sins. And not only for our sins, but also for those of the whole world. 3And we can be sure that we have known him by this: if we observe his commandments. 4Whoever claims that he knows him, and yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the charity of God is perfected. And by this we know that we are in him. 6Whoever declares himself to remain in him, ought to walk just as he himself walked.
