18If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before you. 19If you had been of the world, the world would love what is its own. Yet truly, you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world; because of this, the world hates you. 20Remember my saying that I told you: The servant is not greater than his Lord. 35Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword? 36For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.” 37But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us. 38For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength, 39nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

18The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and he freed them from all their tribulations. 19The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit. 20Many are the afflictions of the just, but from them all the Lord will free them.
12And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
33These things I have spoken to you, so that you may have peace in me. In the world, you will have difficulties. But have confidence: I have overcome the world.”
