¹³For you have possessed my temperament. You have supported me from the womb of my mother. ¹⁴I will confess to you, for you have been magnified terribly. Your works are miraculous, as my soul knows exceedingly well. ¹⁵My bone, which you have made in secret, has not been hidden from you, and my substance is in accord with the lower parts of the earth. ¹⁶Your eyes saw my imperfection, and all this shall be written in your book. Days will be formed, and no one shall be in them.

³Know that the Lord himself is God. He made us, and we ourselves did not. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

⁵Jesus responded: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one has been reborn by water and the Holy Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

⁷And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

²⁶And he said: “Let us make Man to our image and likeness. And let him rule over the fish of the sea, and the flying creatures of the air, and the wild beasts, and the entire earth, and every animal that moves on the earth.”

¹⁰For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works which God has prepared and in which we should walk.

⁴Nicodemus said to him: “How could a man be born when he is old? Surely, he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be reborn?” ⁵Jesus responded: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one has been reborn by water and the Holy Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word. ²He was with God in the beginning. ³All things were made through Him, and nothing that was made was made without Him. ⁴Life was in Him, and Life was the light of men. ⁵And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. ⁶There was a man sent by God, whose name was John.

⁶How can this be the return you would offer to the Lord, O foolish and senseless people? Is he himself not your Father, who has possessed you, and made you, and created you?

²⁷And God created man to his own image; to the image of God he created him; male and female, he created them.

²³Be careful, lest you at some time forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he has formed with you, and lest you make for yourselves a graven likeness of those things which the Lord has prohibited to be made. ²⁴For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. ²⁵When you will have conceived sons and grandsons while abiding in the land, and if, having been deceived, you make for yourselves any likeness, accomplishing evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to wrath,

⁵“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you went forth from the womb, I sanctified you. And I made you a prophet to the nations.”

¹⁰For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works which God has prepared and in which we should walk. ¹¹Because of this, be mindful that, in times past, you were Gentiles in the flesh, and that you were called uncircumcised by those who are called circumcised in the flesh, something done by man, ¹²and that you were, in that time, without Christ, being foreign to the way of life of Israel, being visitors to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and being without God in this world. ¹³But now, in Christ Jesus, you, who were in times past far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴For he is our peace. He made the two into one, by dissolving the intermediate wall of separation, of opposition, by his flesh, ¹⁵emptying the law of commandments by decree, so that he might join these two, in himself, into one new man, making peace
