43And while he was still speaking, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, arrived, and with him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the elders. 44Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying: “He whom I shall kiss, it is he. Take hold of him, and lead him away cautiously.” 45And when he had arrived, immediately drawing near to him, he said: “Hail, Master!” And he kissed him.

3Then Judas, who betrayed him, seeing that he had been condemned, regretting his conduct, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the leaders of the priests and the elders, 4saying, “I have sinned in betraying just blood.” But they said to him: “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed. And going out, he hanged himself with a snare. 6But the leaders of the priests, having taken up the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the temple offerings, because it is the price of blood.” 7Then, having taken counsel, they bought the potter’s field with it, as a burying place for sojourners. 8For this reason, that field is called Haceldama, that is, ‘The Field of Blood,’ even to this very day.

67After this, many of his disciples went back, and they no longer walked with him. 68Therefore, Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 69Then Simon Peter answered him: “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. 70And we have believed, and we recognize that you are the Christ, the Son of God.” 71Jesus answered them: “Have I not chosen you twelve? And yet one among you is a devil.”

4Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was soon to betray him, said, 5“Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the needy?” 6Now he said this, not out of concern for the needy, but because he was a thief and, since he held the purse, he used to carry what was put into it.

12While I was with them, I preserved them in your name. I have guarded those whom you have given to me, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.

3Then Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, one of the twelve. 4And he went out and was speaking with the leaders of the priests, and the magistrates, as to how he might hand him over to them. 5And they were glad, and so they made an agreement to give him money. 6And he made a promise. And he was seeking an opportunity to hand him over, apart from the crowds.

2And when the meal had taken place, when the devil had now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,

16“Noble brothers, the Scripture must be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit predicted by the mouth of David about Judas, who was the leader of those who apprehended Jesus. 17He had been numbered among us, and he was chosen by lot for this ministry. 18And this man certainly possessed an estate from the wages of iniquity, and so, having been hanged, he burst open in the middle and all his internal organs poured out. 19And this became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that this field was called in their language, Akeldama, that is, ‘Field of Blood.’ 20For it has been written in the book of Psalms: ‘Let their dwelling place be desolate and may there be no one who dwells within it,’ and ‘Let another take his episcopate.’ 21Therefore, it is necessary that, out of these men who have been assembling with us throughout the entire time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

14Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the leaders of the priests, 15and he said to them, “What are you willing to give me, if I hand him over to you?” So they appointed thirty pieces of silver for him. 16And from then on, he sought an opportunity to betray him.

18And while reclining and eating with them at table, Jesus said, “Amen I say to you, that one of you, who eats with me, will betray me.” 19But they began to be sorrowful and to say to him, one at a time: “Is it I?” 20And he said to them: “It is one of the twelve, who dips his hand with me in the dish. 21And indeed, the Son of man goes, just as it has been written of him. But woe to that man by whom the Son of man will be betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.”

18I am not speaking about all of you. I know those whom I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me shall lift up his heel against me.’ 19And I tell you this now, before it happens, so that when it has happened, you may believe that I am. 20Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives anyone whom I send, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.” 21When Jesus had said these things, he was troubled in spirit. And he bore witness by saying: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that one among you shall betray me.” 22Therefore, the disciples looked around at one another, uncertain about whom he spoke. 23And leaning against the bosom of Jesus was one of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved.
