²²Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. But whoever acts faithfully pleases him.

¹⁶Six things there are that the Lord hates, and the seventh, his soul detests: ¹⁷haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, ¹⁸a heart that devises the most wicked thoughts, feet running swiftly unto evil, ¹⁹a deceitful witness bringing forth lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

⁹A false witness shall not go unpunished. And whoever speaks lies will perish.

⁷He who has acted arrogantly will not dwell in the midst of my house. He who has spoken iniquity was not guided with the sight of my eyes.

¹⁹The lips of truth shall be steadfast forever. But a hasty witness readies a lying tongue.

⁹Do not lie to one another. Strip yourselves of the old man, with his deeds, ¹⁰and clothe yourself with the new man, who has been renewed by knowledge, in accord with the image of the One who created him,

¹⁷For there is nothing secret, which will not be made clear, nor is there anything hidden, which will not be known and be brought into plain sight.

⁴⁴You are of your father, the devil. And you will carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning. And he did not stand in the truth, because the truth is not in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks it from his own self. For he is a liar, and the father of lies.

¹⁶You shall not speak false testimony against your neighbor.

²⁵Because of this, setting aside lying, speak the truth, each one with his neighbor. For we are all part of one another.

⁴Whoever claims that he knows him, and yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

⁸But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all liars, these shall be a part of the pool burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”

⁵A false witness shall not go unpunished. And whoever speaks lies will not escape.
