mourning

⁴Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth.

⁴And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no more. And neither mourning, nor crying out, nor grief shall be anymore. For the first things have passed away.”

¹⁹The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit.

¹³And we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are sleeping, so as not to be sorrowful, like these others who do not have hope.

²⁵Jesus said to her: “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me, even though he has died, he shall live. ²⁶And everyone who lives and believes in me shall not die for eternity. Do you believe this?”

³He heals the contrite of heart, and he binds up their sorrows.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation. ⁴He consoles us in all our tribulation, so that we too may be able to console those who are in any kind of distress, through the exhortation by which we also are being exhorted by God.

²and so to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vindication of our God: to console all who are mourning, ³to take up the mourners of Zion and to give them a crown in place of ashes, an oil of joy in place of mourning, a cloak of praise in place of a spirit of grief. And there, they shall be called the strong ones of justice, the planting of the Lord, unto glorification.

¹⁰Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not turn away, for I am your God. I have strengthened you, and I have assisted you, and the right hand of my just one has upheld you.

²⁶My body has failed, and my heart: O God of my heart, and God my portion, into eternity.

¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.

³⁵And Jesus wept.
