5Test yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not know whether Christ Jesus is in you? But perhaps you are reprobates.

23For if anyone is a listener of the Word, but not also a doer, he is comparable to a man gazing into a mirror upon the face that he was born with; 24and after considering himself, he went away and promptly forgot what he had seen. 25But he who gazes upon the perfect law of liberty, and who remains in it, is not a forgetful hearer, but instead a doer of the work. He shall be blessed in what he does.

3For if anyone considers himself to be something, though he may be nothing, he deceives himself. 4So let each one prove his own work. And in this way, he shall have glory in himself only, and not in another. 5For each one shall carry his own burden.

28But let a man examine himself, and, in this way, let him eat from that bread, and drink from that cup. 29For whoever eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks a sentence against himself, not discerning it to be the body of the Lord. 30As a result, many are weak and sick among you, and many have fallen asleep. 31But if we ourselves were discerning, then certainly we would not be judged. 32Yet when we are judged, we are being corrected by the Lord, so that we might not be condemned along with this world.

1Unto the end. A Psalm of David. O Lord, you have examined me, and you have known me. 2You have known my sitting down and my rising up again. 3You have understood my thoughts from afar. My path and my fate, you have investigated. 4And you have foreseen all my ways. For there is no word in my tongue. 5Behold, O Lord, you have known all things: the newest and the very old. You have formed me, and you have placed your hand over me. 6Your knowledge has become a wonder to me. It has been reinforced, and I am not able to prevail against it.

23Examine me, O God, and know my heart. Question me, and know my paths. 24And see if there might be in me the way of iniquity, and lead me in the way of eternity.

9If we confess our sins, then he is faithful and just, so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

3For I say, through the grace that has been given to me, to all who are among you: Taste no more than it is necessary to taste, but taste unto sobriety and just as God has distributed a share of the faith to each one.

3Be merciful to me, O God, according to your great mercy. And, according to the plentitude of your compassion, wipe out my iniquity. 4Wash me once again from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 5For I know my iniquity, and my sin is ever before me. 6Against you only have I sinned, and I have done evil before your eyes. And so, you are justified in your words, and you will prevail when you give judgment. 7For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sinfulness did my mother conceive me. 8For behold, you have loved truth. The obscure and hidden things of your wisdom, you have manifested to me.
