3By faith, we understand the world to be fashioned by the Word of God, so that the visible might be made by the invisible.

22He is the One who sits upon the globe of the earth, and its inhabitants are like locusts. He extends the heavens as if they were nothing, and he spreads them out like a tent, in which to dwell.

4For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded. 5What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you visit him?

4For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded. 5What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you visit him? 6You reduced him to a little less than the Angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, 7and you have set him over the works of your hands.

4Though you have been lifted high like an eagle, and though you have placed your nest among the stars, from there I will pull you down, says the Lord.

14Then God said: “Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven. And let them divide day from night, and let them become signs, both of the seasons, and of the days and years. 15Let them shine in the firmament of heaven and illuminate the earth.” And so it became. 16And God made two great lights: a greater light, to rule over the day, and a lesser light, to rule over the night, along with the stars. 17And he set them in the firmament of heaven, to give light over all the earth, 18and to rule over the day as well as the night, and to divide light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

8The Maker of Arcturus and Orion, who turns darkness into daybreak and who changes day into night; who calls forth the waters of the sea and who pours them out over the face of the earth: The Lord is his name.

26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things. He leads forth their army by number, and he calls them all by name. Because of the fullness of his strength and robustness and virtue, not one of them was left behind.

19And I will bestow wonders in heaven above, and signs on earth below: blood and fire and the vapor of smoke. 20The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord arrives.

31Will you have the strength to join together the sparkling stars of the Pleiades, or are you able to disperse the circling of Arcturus? 32Can you bring forth the morning star, in its time, and make the evening star rise over the sons of the earth? 33Do you know the order of heaven, and can you explain its rules here on the earth?

12I made the earth, and I created man upon it. My hand stretched out the heavens, and I have commanded all their hosts.

35Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun as the light of the day, who puts the moon and the stars in order as the light of the night, who stirs up the sea and makes its waves roar: the Lord of hosts is his name. 36If these laws fail in my sight, says the Lord, then the offspring of Israel will also fail, so that they will not be a people in my sight for all time.”

2O Lord, our Lord, how admirable is your name throughout all the earth! For your magnificence is elevated above the heavens. 3Out of the mouths of babes and infants, you have perfected praise, because of your enemies, so that you may destroy the enemy and the revenger. 4For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded.
