²⁹And he replaced the storm with a breeze, and its waves were stilled.

²³And climbing into a boat, his disciples followed him. ²⁴And behold, a great tempest occurred in the sea, so much so that the boat was covered with waves; yet truly, he was sleeping. ²⁵And his disciples drew near to him, and they awakened him, saying: “Lord, save us, we are perishing.” ²⁶And Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid, O little in faith?” Then rising up, he commanded the winds, and the sea. And a great tranquility occurred. ²⁷Moreover, the men wondered, saying: “What kind of man is this? For even the winds and the sea obey him.”

⁶Act manfully and be strengthened. Do not be afraid, and do not dread at the sight of them. For the Lord your God himself is your commander, and he will neither dismiss nor abandon you.”

⁷The Lord is good, and a comforter in the day of tribulation, and he knows those who hope in him.

¹⁸The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and he freed them from all their tribulations. ¹⁹The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit. ²⁰Many are the afflictions of the just, but from them all the Lord will free them. ²¹The Lord preserves all of their bones, not one of them shall be broken.

⁹And he said to me: “My grace is sufficient for you. For virtue is perfected in weakness.” And so, willingly shall I glory in my weaknesses, so that the virtue of Christ may live within me.

³⁵And on that day, when evening had arrived, he said to them, “Let us cross over.” ³⁶And dismissing the crowd, they brought him, so that he was in one boat, and other boats were with him. ³⁷And a great wind storm occurred, and the waves broke over the boat, so that the boat was being filled. ³⁸And he was in the stern of the boat, sleeping on a pillow. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, does it not concern you that we are perishing?” ³⁹And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and he said to the sea: “Silence. Be stilled.” And the wind ceased. And a great tranquility occurred. ⁴⁰And he said to them: “Why are you afraid? Do you still lack faith?” And they were struck with a great fear. And they said to one another, “Who do you think this is, that both wind and sea obey him?”

¹The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven. ²He will say to the Lord, “You are my supporter and my refuge.” My God, I will hope in him. ³For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word. ⁴He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings. ⁵His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night, ⁶before the arrow flying in the day, before the troubles that wander in the darkness, nor of invasion and the midday demon.

²⁶And Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid, O little in faith?” Then rising up, he commanded the winds, and the sea. And a great tranquility occurred.

⁶And there will be a tabernacle for shade from the heat in daytime, and for security, and for protection from the whirlwind and from rain.

³⁹And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and he said to the sea: “Silence. Be stilled.” And the wind ceased. And a great tranquility occurred.

¹⁹And may my God fulfill all your desires, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

⁴For you have been the strength of the poor, the strength of the indigent in his tribulation, a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the spirit of the mighty is like a whirlwind striking against a wall.

¹¹Be empty, and see that I am God. I will be exalted among the peoples, and I will be exalted upon the earth.

³The Lord is patient and great in strength, and those who are not clean, he makes innocent. The Lord is in a tempest, and his way is a whirlwind, and the clouds are dust at his feet.

²⁴Then, drawing near, they awakened him, saying, “Teacher, we are perishing.” But as he rose up, he rebuked the wind and the raging water, and they ceased. And a tranquility occurred.
