4They live in sepulchers, and they sleep in the shrines of idols. They eat the flesh of swine, and a profane elixir is in their vessels.

2I have extended my hands all day long to an unbelieving people, who advance along a way that is not good, following their own thoughts, 3to a people who provoke me to anger before my face continually, who immolate in the gardens, and who sacrifice upon the bricks. 4They live in sepulchers, and they sleep in the shrines of idols. 11And in that place, near the mountain, there was a great herd of swine, feeding. 12And the spirits entreated him, saying: “Send us into the swine, so that we may enter into them.” 13And Jesus promptly gave them permission. And the unclean spirits, departing, entered into the swine. And the herd of about two thousand rushed down with great force into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. 14Then those who pastured them fled, and they reported it in the city and in the countryside. And they all went out to see what was happening.

33Therefore, the demons departed from the man, and they entered into the swine. And the herd rushed violently down a precipice into the lake, and they were drowned.

8The pig also, since it has a divided hoof, but does not chew over again, shall be unclean. Their flesh shall not be eaten, and you shall not touch their carcasses.

22For the truth of the proverb has happened to them: The dog has returned to his own vomit, and the washed sow has returned to her wallowing in the mud.
