²⁴No one is able to serve two masters. For either he will have hatred for the one, and love the other, or he will persevere with the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

²⁵Let your eyes look straight ahead, and let your eyelids precede your steps.

⁶In all your ways, consider him, and he himself will direct your steps.

¹⁴Because of this, it is said: “You who are sleeping: awaken, and rise up from the dead, and so shall the Christ enlighten you.” ¹⁵And so, brothers, see to it that you walk cautiously, not like the foolish, ¹⁶but like the wise: atoning for this age, because this is an evil time.

²Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his recompenses. ³He forgives all your iniquities. He heals all your infirmities. ⁴He redeems your life from destruction. He crowns you with mercy and compassion.

²But his will is with the law of the Lord, and he will meditate on his law, day and night.

⁹⁷How have I loved your law, O Lord? It is my meditation all day long.

³³Therefore, seek first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added to you as well.

⁵For know and understand this: no one who is a fornicator, or lustful, or rapacious (for these are a kind of service to idols) holds an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁹⁹I have understood beyond all my teachers. For your testimonies are my meditation.

¹⁰For desire is the root of all evils. Some persons, hungering in this way, have strayed from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.

¹⁰for fornicators, for males who sleep with males, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

¹¹The rich have been needy and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.
