²²Blessed shall you be when men will have hated you, and when they will have separated you and reproached you, and thrown out your name as if evil, because of the Son of man.

³He heals the contrite of heart, and he binds up their sorrows.

¹⁰For my father and my mother have left me behind, but the Lord has taken me up.

²⁶You shall be holy unto me, because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples, so that you would be mine.

¹The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the meek, so as to heal the contrite of heart, to preach leniency to captives and release to the confined, ²and so to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vindication of our God: to console all who are mourning,

⁹The true Light, which illuminates every man, was coming into this world. ¹⁰He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not recognize him. ¹¹He went to his own, and his own did not accept him. ¹²Yet whoever did accept him, those who believed in his name, he gave them the power to become the sons of God. ¹³These are born, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ¹⁴And the Word became flesh, and he lived among us, and we saw his glory, glory like that of an only-begotten Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

⁹If we confess our sins, then he is faithful and just, so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

⁴¹Two women will be grinding at a millstone: one will be taken up, and one will be left behind.

⁴⁶And these shall go into eternal punishment, but the just shall go into eternal life.”

¹⁶For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that all who believe in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.

⁴¹Then he shall also say, to those who will be on his left: ‘Depart from me, you accursed ones, into the eternal fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels.
