12Therefore, clothe yourselves like the elect of God: holy and beloved, with hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, modesty, and patience. 13Support one another, and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive one another. For just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also must you do. 14And above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection.

1“Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe in me also. 2In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. If there were not, I would have told you. For I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will return again, and then I will take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be. 4And you know where I am going. And you know the way.” 5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6Jesus said to him: “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. 44But I say to you: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who persecute and slander you.

19Do not defend yourselves, dearest ones. Instead, step aside from wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is mine. I shall give retribution, says the Lord.”

15But if your brother has sinned against you, go and correct him, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you will have regained your brother.

6For wrath is in his indignation, and life is in his will. Toward evening, weeping will linger, and toward morning, gladness.

1And so, as a prisoner in the Lord, I beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the vocation to which you have been called: 2with all humility and meekness, with patience, supporting one another in charity. 3Be anxious to preserve the unity of the Spirit within the bonds of peace. 4One body and one Spirit: to this you have been called by the one hope of your calling: 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.

22But I say to you, that anyone who becomes angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment. But whoever will have called his brother, ‘Idiot,’ shall be liable to the council. Then, whoever will have called him, ‘Worthless,’ shall be liable to the fires of Hell.

29Let no evil words proceed from your mouth, but only what is good, toward the edification of faith, so as to bestow grace upon those who listen.

3Let nothing be done by contention, nor in vain glory. Instead, in humility, let each of you esteem others to be better than himself.

8Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these.

1Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. But whoever hates correction is unwise. 2Whoever is good shall draw grace from the Lord. But whoever trusts in his own thoughts acts impiously. 3Man will not be made strong from impiety. And the root of the just shall not be moved. 4A diligent woman is a crown to her husband. And she who acts with confusion as to which things are worthy is decay to his bones. 5The thoughts of the just are judgments. And the counsels of the impious are dishonest. 6The words of the impious lie in wait for blood. The mouth of the just shall free them.
