²³Do not continue to drink only water, but make use of a little wine, for the sake of your stomach and your frequent infirmities.

¹¹For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you, so that you may atone with it upon the altar for your souls, and so that the blood may be for an expiation of the soul.

²⁶saying: “If you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and obey his commands, and keep all his precepts, I will not bring upon you any of the distress that I imposed on Egypt. For I am the Lord, your healer.”

¹⁹Or do you not know that your bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? ²⁰For you have been bought at a great price. Glorify and carry God in your body.

¹⁷But if anyone violates the Temple of God, God will destroy him. For the Temple of God is holy, and you are that Temple.

¹⁴For sin should not have dominion over you. For you are not under the law, but under grace.

¹⁶Do you not know that you are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God lives within you?

¹But accept those who are weak in faith, without disputing about ideas. ²For one person believes that he may eat all things, but if another is weak, let him eat plants. ³He who eats should not despise him who does not eat. And he who does not eat should not judge him who eats. For God has accepted him. ⁴Who are you to judge the servant of another? He stands or falls by his own Lord. But he shall stand. For God is able to make him stand. ⁵For one person discerns one age from the next. But another discerns unto every age. Let each one increase according to his own mind. ⁶He who understands the age, understands for the Lord. And he who eats, eats for the Lord; for he gives thanks to God. And he who does not eat, does not eat for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.

²⁹And God said: “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant upon the earth, and all the trees that have in themselves the ability to sow their own kind, to be food for you,

¹⁸And do not choose to be inebriated by wine, for this is self-indulgence. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

⁸Similarly, deacons must be chaste, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not pursuing tainted profit,

¹Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of the cohort which is called Italian, ²a devout man, fearing God with all his house, giving many alms to the people, and praying to God continually. ³This man saw in a vision clearly, at about the ninth hour of the day, the Angel of God entering to him and saying to him: “Cornelius!” ⁴And he, gazing at him, was seized by fear, and he said, “What is it, lord?” And he said to him: “Your prayers and your almsgiving have ascended as a memorial in the sight of God. ⁵And now, send men to Joppa and summon a certain Simon, who is surnamed Peter. ⁶This man is a guest with a certain Simon, a tanner, whose house is beside the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”

¹And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: ²Say to the sons of Israel: These are the animals that you ought to eat out of all the living things of the earth. ³All that has a divided hoof, and that chews over again, among the cattle, you shall eat. ⁴But whatever certainly chews over again, but has a hoof that is not divided, such as the camel and others, these you shall not eat, and you shall consider them to be among what is unclean. ⁵The rock rabbit which chews over again, and whose hoof is not divided, is unclean, ⁶and so also is the hare, for it too chews over again, yet its hoof is not divided,

²⁵If anyone will have eaten the fat which ought to be offered as a burnt sacrifice of the Lord, he shall perish from his people.

⁶And the Lord of hosts will cause all the peoples on this mountain to feast on fatness, to feast on wine, a fatness full of marrow, a purified wine.

²⁰He sent his word, and he healed them, and he rescued them from their utter destruction.
