¹⁴And do everything without murmuring or hesitation. ¹⁵So may you be without blame, simple sons of God, without reproof, in the midst of a depraved and perverse nation, among whom you shine like lights in the world,

¹²Whoever reproves the wise and obedient ear is like an earring of gold with a shining pearl. ¹³Just like the cold of snow in a time of harvest, so also is a faithful messenger to him who sent him: he causes his soul to rest.

¹Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just. ²Honor your father and your mother. This is the first commandment with a promise: ³so that it may be well with you, and so that you may have a long life upon the earth.

²⁰Children, obey your parents in all things. For this is well-pleasing to the Lord.

¹³Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me.

⁵For each one shall carry his own burden.

⁶The proverb is: A youth is close to his way; even when he is old, he will not withdraw from it.

¹⁰Who shall find a strong woman? Far away, and from the furthest parts, is her price. ¹¹The heart of her husband confides in her, and he will not be deprived of spoils. ¹²She will repay him with good, and not evil, all the days of her life. ¹³She has sought wool and flax, and she has worked these by the counsel of her hands. ¹⁴She has become like a merchant’s ship, bringing her bread from far away. ¹⁵And she has risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and provisions to her maids.

⁴⁰But let everything be done respectfully and according to proper order.

¹⁰Whoever is faithful in what is least, is also faithful in what is greater. And whoever is unjust in what is small, is also unjust in what is greater.

¹²Honor your father and your mother, so that you may have a long life upon the land, which the Lord your God will give to you.

¹⁴And do everything without murmuring or hesitation.

¹¹to choose work that allows you to be tranquil, and to carry out your business and to do your work with your own hands, just as we have instructed you, ¹²and to walk honestly with those who are outside, and to desire nothing belonging to another.

⁸Now he who plants, and he who waters, are one. But each shall receive his proper reward, according to his labors.

⁴So let each one prove his own work. And in this way, he shall have glory in himself only, and not in another. ⁵For each one shall carry his own burden.

⁸But if anyone has no concern for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith, and he is worse than an unbeliever.

¹²Create a clean heart in me, O God. And renew an upright spirit within my inmost being.
