14And no wonder, for even Satan presents himself as if he were an Angel of light.
1Most beloved, do not be willing to believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are of God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1And I saw a beast ascending from the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns were ten diadems, and upon its heads were names of blasphemy. 2And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet were like the feet of a bear, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave his own power and great authority to it. 3And I saw that one of its heads seemed to be slain unto death, but his deadly wound was healed. And the entire world was in wonder following the beast. 4And they worshiped the dragon, who gave authority to the beast. And they worshiped the beast, saying: “Who is like the beast? And who would be able to fight with it?” 5And there was given to it a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies. And authority was given to him to act for forty-two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those who dwell in heaven.
8Be sober and vigilant. For your adversary, the devil, is like a roaring lion, traveling around and seeking those whom he might devour.
1And I saw an Angel, descending from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the abyss and a great chain. 2And he apprehended the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and he bound him for a thousand years. 3And he cast him into the abyss, and he closed and sealed it, so that he would no longer seduce the nations, until the thousand years are completed. And after these things, he must be released for a brief time. 4And I saw thrones. And they sat upon them. And judgment was given to them. And the souls of those beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the Word of God, and who did not adore the beast, nor his image, nor accept his character on their foreheads or on their hands: they lived and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5The rest of the dead did not live, until the thousand years are completed. This is the First Resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he who takes part in the First Resurrection. Over these the second death has no power. But they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they shall reign with him for a thousand years.
9And he was thrown out, that great dragon, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduces the whole world. And he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
1My little sons, this I write to you, so that you may not sin. But if anyone has sinned, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Just One. 2And he is the propitiation for our sins. And not only for our sins, but also for those of the whole world. 3And we can be sure that we have known him by this: if we observe his commandments. 4Whoever claims that he knows him, and yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the charity of God is perfected. And by this we know that we are in him. 6Whoever declares himself to remain in him, ought to walk just as he himself walked.
13For false apostles, such as these deceitful workers, are presenting themselves as if they were Apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for even Satan presents himself as if he were an Angel of light. 15Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers present themselves as if they were ministers of justice, for their end shall be according to their works.
5Or do you think that Scripture says in vain: “The spirit which lives within you desires unto envy?”
9When Michael the Archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring against him a judgment of blasphemy, so instead he said: “The Lord commands you.”
2And do not be willing to forget hospitality. For by it, certain persons, without realizing it, have received Angels as guests.
12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the directors of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in high places.
