1In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. 2But the earth was empty and unoccupied, and darknesses were over the face of the abyss; and so the Spirit of God was brought over the waters. 3And God said, “Let there be light.” And light became. 4And God saw the light, that it was good; and so he divided the light from the darknesses. 5And he called the light, ‘Day,’ and the darknesses, ‘Night.’ And it became evening and morning, one day. 6God also said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide waters from waters.”

26And he said: “Let us make Man to our image and likeness. And let him rule over the fish of the sea, and the flying creatures of the air, and the wild beasts, and the entire earth, and every animal that moves on the earth.” 27And God created man to his own image; to the image of God he created him; male and female, he created them. 28And God blessed them, and he said, “Increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the flying creatures of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

7If you behave well, will you not receive? But if you behave badly, will not sin at once be present at the door? And so its desire will be within you, and you will be dominated by it.”

20You devised evil against me. But God turned it into good, so that he might exalt me, just as you presently discern, and so that he might bring about the salvation of many peoples.

1After these things were done, it was reported to Joseph that his father was sick. And taking his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim, he went directly to him. 2And it was told to the old man, “Behold, your son Joseph is coming to you.” And being strengthened, he sat up in bed. 3And when he had entered to him, he said: “Almighty God appeared to me at Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, and he blessed me. 4And he said: ‘I will increase and multiply you, and I will make you influential among the people. And I will give this land to you, and to your offspring after you, as an everlasting possession.’ 5Therefore, your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came here to you, will be mine. Ephraim and Manasseh will be treated by me just like Reuben and Simeon. 6But the remainder, whom you will conceive after them, will be yours, and they will be called by the name of their brothers among their possessions.

1Then God remembered Noah, and all living things, and all the cattle, which were with him in the ark, and he brought a wind across the earth, and the waters were diminished. 2And the fountains of the abyss and the floodgates of heaven were closed. And the rain from heaven was restrained. 3And the waters were restored to their coming and going from the earth. And they began to diminish after one hundred and fifty days. 4And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, upon the mountains of Armenia. 5Yet in truth, the waters were departing and decreasing until the tenth month. For in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tips of the mountains appeared. 6And when forty days had passed, Noah, opening the window that he had made in the ark, sent forth a raven,

1See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we would be called, and would become, the sons of God. Because of this, the world does not know us, for it did not know him. 2Most beloved, we are now the sons of God. But what we shall be then has not yet appeared. We know that when he does appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

15I will put enmities between you and the woman, between your offspring and her offspring. She will crush your head, and you will lie in wait for her heel.”

18The Lord God also said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. Let us make a helper for him similar to himself.”

4These are the generations of heaven and earth, when they were created, in the day when the Lord God made heaven and earth,

1He who was from the beginning, whom we have heard, whom we have seen with our eyes, upon whom we have gazed, and whom our hands have certainly touched: He is the Word of Life. 2And that Life has been made manifest. And we have seen, and we testify, and we announce to you: the Eternal Life, who was with the Father, and who appeared to us. 3He whom we have seen and heard, we announce to you, so that you, too, may have fellowship with us, and so that our fellowship may be with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4And this we write to you, so that you may rejoice, and so that your joy may be full. 5And this is the announcement which we have heard from him, and which we announce to you: that God is light, and in him there is no darkness. 6If we claim that we have fellowship with him, and yet we walk in darkness, then we are lying and not telling the truth.

1Abraham advanced from there into the southern land, and he lived between Kadesh and Shur. And he sojourned in Gerar. 2And he said about his wife Sarah: “She is my sister.” Therefore, Abimelech, the king of Gerar, sent for her and took her. 3Then God came to Abimelech through a dream in the night, and he said to him: “Lo, you shall die because of the woman that you have taken. For she has a husband.” 4In truth, Abimelech had not touched her, and so he said: “Lord, would you put to death a people, ignorant and just? 5Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister,’ and did she not say, ‘He is my brother?’ In the sincerity of my heart and the purity of my hands, I have done this.” 6And God said to him: “And I know that you have acted with a sincere heart. And therefore I kept you from sinning against me, and I did not release you to touch her.

1These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood. 2The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. 3And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. 4And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim. 5The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations. 6And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
