10Therefore, while we have time, we should do good works toward everyone, and most of all toward those who are of the household of the faith.

15And so, brothers, see to it that you walk cautiously, not like the foolish, 16but like the wise: atoning for this age, because this is an evil time. 17For this reason, do not choose to be imprudent. Instead, understand what is the will of God. 18And do not choose to be inebriated by wine, for this is self-indulgence. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19speaking among yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual canticles, singing and reciting psalms to the Lord in your hearts, 20giving thanks always for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God the Father.

18Now someone may say: “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works! But I will show you my faith by means of works.

9The Lord is not delaying his promise, as some imagine, but he does act patiently for your sake, not wanting anyone to perish, but wanting all to be turned back to penance.

3Know that the Lord himself is God. He made us, and we ourselves did not. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

15The one who walks in justice and speaks the truth, who casts out avarice with oppression and shakes all bribes from his hands, who blocks his ears so that he may not listen to blood, and closes his eyes so that he may not see evil. 16Such a one will live on high; the fortification of rocks will be his lofty place. Bread has been given to him; his waters are reliable.

8For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not of yourselves, for it is a gift of God. 9And this is not of works, so that no one may glory.

8Be sober and vigilant. For your adversary, the devil, is like a roaring lion, traveling around and seeking those whom he might devour.
