¹⁶For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that all who believe in him may not perish, but may have eternal life.

¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word. ²He was with God in the beginning. ³All things were made through Him, and nothing that was made was made without Him. ⁴Life was in Him, and Life was the light of men.

³⁴Jesus said to them: “My food is to do the will of the One who sent me, so that I may perfect his work.

⁸For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not of yourselves, for it is a gift of God. ⁹And this is not of works, so that no one may glory.

²And he is the propitiation for our sins. And not only for our sins, but also for those of the whole world.

⁴Little sons, you are of God, and so you have overcome him. For he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

³⁰And so they said to him: “Then what sign will you do, so that we may see it and believe in you? What will you work? ³¹Our fathers ate manna in the desert, just as it has been written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ” ³²Therefore, Jesus said to them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, Moses did not give you bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. ³³For the bread of God is he who descends from heaven and gives life to the world.” ³⁴And so they said to him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” ³⁵Then Jesus said to them: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

¹⁷So if anyone is a new creature in Christ, what is old has passed away. Behold, all things have been made new.

⁷For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of virtue, and of love, and of self-restraint.

²³For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁹Therefore, let us love God, for God first loved us. ²⁰If anyone says that he loves God, but hates his brother, then he is a liar. For he who does not love his brother, whom he does see, in what way can he love God, whom he does not see?

¹Then, after these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee. For he was not willing to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him. ²Now the feast day of the Jews, the Feast of Tabernacles, was near. ³And his brothers said to him: “Move away from here and go into Judea, so that your disciples there may also see your works that you do. ⁴Of course, no one does anything in secret, but he himself seeks to be in the public view. Since you do these things, manifest yourself to the world.” ⁵For neither did his brothers believe in him. ⁶Therefore, Jesus said to them: “My time has not yet come; but your time is always at hand.

⁸But God demonstrates his love for us in that, while we were yet sinners, at the proper time,
