why we need god

⁶Jesus said to him: “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

⁴⁶I have arrived as a light to the world, so that all who believe in me might not remain in darkness.

¹²instructing us to reject impiety and worldly desires, so that we may live soberly and justly and piously in this age,

¹³Jesus responded and said to her: “All who drink from this water will thirst again. But whoever shall drink from the water that I will give to him will not thirst for eternity. ¹⁴Instead, the water that I will give to him will become in him a fountain of water, springing up into eternal life.”

¹⁶Therefore, let us go forth with confidence toward the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy, and find grace, in a helpful time.
