44You are of your father, the devil. And you will carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning. And he did not stand in the truth, because the truth is not in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks it from his own self. For he is a liar, and the father of lies.

8But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all liars, these shall be a part of the pool burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”

23In the same manner as an earthen vessel, if it were adorned with impure silver, conceited lips are allied with a wicked heart. 24An enemy is known by his lips, though it is from his heart that he draws out deceit. 25When he will have lowered his voice, do not believe him, for there are seven vices in his heart. 26Whoever covers hatred with deceit, his malice shall be revealed in the assembly. 27Whoever digs a pit will fall into it. And whoever rolls a stone, it will roll back to him. 28A false tongue does not love truth. And a slippery mouth works ruin.

9If we confess our sins, then he is faithful and just, so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

1“You shall not accept a lying voice. Neither shall you join your hand so as to give false testimony on behalf of the impious.

19Do not defend yourselves, dearest ones. Instead, step aside from wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is mine. I shall give retribution, says the Lord.”
